Our goal is to prepare students to successfully take and pass the exam which will reward them with a GED diploma, equivalent to a high school diploma. While we call them “classes”, students actually receive one-on-one tutoring, helping students to accomplish their individual educational goals.  In addition, volunteers help students obtain transcripts of their previous educational successes and assist them with registering for the GED exam.

Our GED Coordinator, Sandy Spaziani, is a Special Ed New York City high school teacher with a general knowledge of every academic subject. She also works with students with learning disabilities and is comfortable working with people with learning disorders. Sandy trains and directs all the GED volunteers.
