Isaiah
55
1 "Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you
who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and
without cost. 2 Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor
on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your
soul will delight in the richest of fare. 3 Give ear and come to me;
hear me, that your soul may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
my faithful love promised to David. 4 See, I have made him a witness
to the peoples, a leader and commander of the peoples. 5 Surely you
will summon nations you know not, and nations that do not know you will hasten
to you, because of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed
you with splendor."
6 Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. 7
Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to
the LORD , and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely
pardon.
8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways
my ways," declares the LORD . 9 "As the heavens are higher
than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your
thoughts. 10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and
flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11
so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but
will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
12 You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains
and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will
clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine
tree, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the LORD's
renown, for an everlasting sign, which will not be destroyed."
This passage is chock full of promises from God to us and 2 Corinthians 1:20 tells us, "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.
He (Jesus) is everything we want and need. He is able to guide us by the Holy Spirit to everything that we need.
Philippians 4:19 tells us what God's will is for us concerning all He has for us. In response to all of our needs God says He will "meet [supply, cram or fill up] all your needs according to his glorious riches [wealth, money, possessions, abundance] in Christ Jesus."
God's will is to "cram us" with all we need. We don't have a cheap God. That word "cram" also relates to a bucket that you keep pressing things into until you just can't anymore! He doesn't want to just dole out a little so we can just get by. He wants to lavishly pour out His blessings on us for His glory.
How do we obtain these promises and blessings? By faith! We can't work at obtaining all this. Jesus did it for us. When Jesus hung on the cross He said, "It is finished!"
Everything we need for faith is given to us through the Word and by acting on it. That is what faith is... acting on the Word of God!
Below are some faith tools you can use to obtain ALL that God has for you! Remember, tools only work when you use them. Faith without works is dead but when you put your faith into action... watch out!
Faith Tools
Word of God + Holy Spirit: If you are going to soar above mountains of defeat, you will need both "wings." They cannot be listed one before the other because of their equal value.
a. Word of God -- John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
Romans 10:17: "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Ephesians 6:17: "the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
b. Holy Spirit -- John 15:26: "When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me."
Acts 4:31: "... And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly."
Binding and Loosing: Matthew 16:19 "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." ("And I will will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: whatever you forbid on earth, Heaven shall forbid, and whatever you allow on earth, Heaven shall allow.")
Power of Agreement: Matthew 18:19 "Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree (sumphoneo - harmoniously as in a symphony) on earth as touching (suggests completing a circuit) any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven."
Name of Jesus: Philippians 2:10 "...that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth."
Blood of Jesus: Revelation 12:11 "They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death."
Other powerful faith tools include: Praise & Worship, Prayer, Tithing & Sowing, Obedience, Testimonies (declaring what God has done). The Holy Spirit will teach us which tools to use and when. He wants us to have every blessing!
